Indoor P10 Full-color LED Display: Calculation Steps

Example: a P10 indoor full-color LED display with dimensions 20 m (length) by 10 m (height).

1. Calculate the number of modules

Module size: 32 cm x 16 cm.

Length in cm: 2000 cm ÷ 32 cm = 62.5 → round up to 63 modules.

Height in cm: 1000 cm ÷ 16 cm = 62.5 → round up to 63 modules.

2. Calculate screen resolution

Module pixel count: 32 x 16 (pixels per module).

Screen resolution (pixels): length = 32 x 63 = 2016; height = 16 x 63 = 1008.

3. Calculate the number of receiving cards

Example receiving card capacity for indoor screens: 256 x 128 (pixels).

Along length: 2016 ÷ 256 = 7.875 → round up to 8 cards.

Along height: 1008 ÷ 128 = 7.875 → round up to 8 cards.

Total receiving cards: 8 x 8 = 64. Add one spare card → 65 receiving cards.

4. Calculate the number of sending cards

Example sending card specification (LingXingYu): 1280 x 1024 (pixels).

Along length: 2016 ÷ 1280 = 1.575 → round up to 2.

Along height: 1008 ÷ 1024 = 0.98 → round up to 1.

Total sending cards: 2 x 1 = 2 sending cards.

Outdoor P10 Full-color LED Display: Calculation Steps

For outdoor displays, calculations are typically based on cabinet (box) counts. A receiving card can serve one cabinet or two cabinets. For government projects, the common practice is one cabinet per receiving card; for other projects, one receiving card per two cabinets is common.

Example: a P10 outdoor full-color LED display with dimensions 20 m (length) by 12 m (height). Cabinet size: 96 cm x 96 cm.

Cabinet count

Length: 20 ÷ 0.96 = 20.8 → round up to 21 cabinets.

Height: 12 ÷ 0.96 = 12.5 → round up to 13 cabinets.

Total cabinets: 21 x 13 = 273.

1. Calculate the number of receiving cards

Total cabinets: 273. Add one spare receiving card as reserve.

Government projects (one cabinet per card): 273 receiving cards.

General projects (one card per two cabinets): 273 ÷ 2 + 1 = 138 receiving cards (including one spare).

2. Calculate screen resolution

Resolution per cabinet: 960 x 960 (pixels).

Screen resolution (pixels): length = 21 x 960 = 2016; height = 13 x 960 = 1248.

3. Calculate the number of sending cards

Example sending card specification (LingXingYu): 1280 x 1024 (pixels).

Along length: 2016 ÷ 1280 = 1.58 → round up to 2.

Along height: 1248 ÷ 1024 = 1.22 → round up to 2.

Total sending cards: 2 x 2 = 4 sending cards.

Summary

In general, for indoor screens calculate receiving cards based on screen resolution. For outdoor screens calculate receiving cards based on cabinet count (one cabinet per card or two cabinets per card depending on project requirements). For both indoor and outdoor screens, calculate sending cards based on the overall screen resolution.
