According to current reports, Qualcomm will announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 at the end of this month. The first flagship phones using this chip are expected to follow soon. This article summarizes the early phones likely to ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen3.

Xiaomi 14 series

The Xiaomi 14 series is highly likely to debut the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and may be announced in early November.

Recently, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have passed 3C certification (China Compulsory Certification). The certification information shows the Xiaomi 14 supports up to 90W fast charging, and the Xiaomi 14 Pro supports up to 120W fast charging.

According to digital blogger @Digital Chat Station, the standard Xiaomi 14 will adopt an "extremely narrow flat display" with a straight-frame design, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro will use a "large micro four-curve display" with a slight curve at the mount area and a straight-frame middle rail. Both models are reported to use a circular triple-camera layout with a 50 MP main sensor, a large circular dual-tone flash at the upper right, and a square Deco design with lens labeling inside the Deco.

On specifications, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is expected to feature a 2K resolution native micro-curved eye-care panel, a new 50 MP 1/1.28" main lens with variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0), an approximately 4800 mAh battery, a large X-axis vibration motor, and a potential titanium alloy variant. The standard Xiaomi 14 will focus on the new narrow flat screen and a 50 MP 1/1.28" main sensor with a vertical mid-telephoto module, with storage options up to 512 GB and 1 TB and battery capacity remaining in the 4000–5000 mAh range. Overall, the Xiaomi 14 series brings upgrades across display, performance, imaging, charging, and manufacturing processes.

Redmi K70 Pro

Redmi is expected to launch a new K70 series in December. The Redmi K70 Pro is reported to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen3.

Leaked engineering unit details from @Digital Chat Station indicate a 2K native straight display based on a new domestic substrate, an ultra-narrow bezel design without a plastic support frame, a metal middle frame with new glass materials for the body, a 50 MP OIS large-sensor main camera plus a 3.xx mid-telephoto lens, a 5000+mAh battery, and support for 100W-class fast charging. The K70 Pro will therefore focus on upgrades to the screen, performance, imaging, and materials.

vivo X100 Pro+

vivo is expected to launch the X100 Pro by the end of the year, with the X100 Pro+ arriving next year. The standard and Pro versions of the X100 series are reported to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9300, while the Pro+ is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen3.

The X100 series may introduce vivo's new in-house imaging chip V3 for features such as 4K cinematic portrait video. According to @WHYLAB, the X100 series could include satellite communication support using the Unisoc V8821 satellite communication SoC, with two-way text, images, voice, and video (video under development). Other expected features include IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo earpiece speakers, an X-axis vibration motor, infrared remote control, and 50W wireless charging. The X100 Pro+ should bring improvements in performance, imaging, and user experience.

iQOO 12

iQOO's next flagship series, the iQOO 12, is expected after the Asian Games. Earlier leaks from @Digital Chat Station suggested a standard iQOO 12 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB/1 TB storage, a 50 MP large-sensor main camera, a 100W-class fast-charging battery solution, and a 2K high-frequency dimming flat display. However, a more recent leak indicates the standard iQOO 12 may drop the 2K panel in favor of a 1.5K straight display without a plastic support frame. The camera system is also expected to see significant upgrades, possibly including a periscope telephoto lens.

OnePlus 12

OnePlus may bring the OnePlus 12 to market by the end of the year. Leaked renders show a centered punch-hole curved display and a familiar OnePlus camera module housing three cameras, with the flash shifted to the upper-left of the module and a Hasselblad "H" logo on the left.

Reported specifications include a 2K high-frequency dimming curved panel based on a new domestic substrate, Snapdragon 8 Gen3, 16 GB/24 GB RAM options, a rear camera setup with a 50 MP IMX9xx main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 64 MP 3x periscope telephoto, a 5400 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, a metal middle frame, an optical under-display fingerprint sensor, a large X-axis vibration motor, and a large VC cooling area. The OnePlus 12 focuses on upgrades in display, performance, imaging, and battery capacity.

realme GT5 Pro

realme plans a GT5 Pro model that will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Leaks from @Digital Chat Station indicate the GT5 Pro will use an IMX9-series main sensor with approximately a 1/1.4x-inch large sensor and OIS support, plus an OV64B 3x periscope lens. The device is also expected to use OPPO-level imaging algorithms.

Meizu 21 series

The Meizu 21 series has reportedly been registered. The overall exterior is not expected to change significantly, but core specifications will be upgraded. Besides Snapdragon 8 Gen3, the Meizu 21 series should include a 50 MP large-sensor main camera. The standard model is expected to have a vertical mid-telephoto, while it is still unclear whether the Pro will include a periscope lens.

Other brands such as OPPO, Motorola, Nubia, and RedMagic are also expected to release Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship models, though few specific leaks are available yet. Which upcoming model are you most interested in?
