For this Rogers PCB production, we manufactured 15 single boards using RO4003C material in a 2-layer stackup. The elongated panels measure 542.5 x 62.5 mm with an overall thickness of just 0.508 mm. With 5/5 mil minimum track and spacing on 1 oz copper, no soldermask or silkscreen, and immersion gold ENIG finish, the job centered on preserving the low-loss dielectric characteristics essential for RF performance.
Rogers material preparation and low loss material lamination received focused attention to avoid distortion on the thin, narrow substrates. Circuit imaging and etching achieved the required finer geometries, after which we performed electroless nickel and immersion gold deposition to coat the exposed pads and traces. The absence of solder mask simplified certain steps but demanded extra precision during handling and testing.
All boards underwent electrical testing and met specifications without issue. This order was completed in 5.3 days, yielding reliable parts that align with the demanding parameters of the design.
