This 6-layer FR-4 board measured 66 × 75 mm with 1.2 mm thickness, TG150 material, and 1 oz copper on both sides. Produced as 5 single pieces, the order used lead-free HASL surface finish, green solder mask, and white silkscreen. Minimum holes were 0.25 mm with standard 6 mil line/space. Aluminum plugged vias were specified, and the 3-day schedule included 100% flying probe testing on the compact multilayer construction.
DFM review addressed silkscreen and mask consistency. Multiple characters fell below process capability (minimum practical width 0.1 mm and height 0.7 mm). Dense pad placement left no room for enlargement or relocation, so the resulting silkscreen would be incomplete or blurred; this limitation was accepted and the artwork processed as supplied. Paste-layer openings at indicated locations differed from the solder-mask windows; production files followed the original solder-mask data. Mark-point openings also showed inconsistency between paste and solder-mask layers and required confirmation of the governing geometry.
Confirmed silkscreen acceptance and mask-window decisions were implemented prior to production. The 6-layer boards achieved consistent lead-free HASL coverage and reliable aluminum via plugging within the accelerated timeline. Full electrical test reports and quality certificates accompanied the shipment, confirming the panels met the specified mechanical and electrical requirements.
