For this aluminum PCB production, we fabricated a batch of 15 single-layer boards, each with an elongated footprint of 65 mm by 633 mm. The 1.0 mm thick aluminum core with 1.0W thermal conductivity was selected to address demanding heat dissipation needs, while the 1 oz copper layer followed a standard 10 mil track and spacing rule. Larger 1.5 mm holes and AC2500V voltage isolation requirements added further considerations to the engineering review and material selection process.
Key steps included dedicated metal base preparation, precise circuit imaging and etching, and thermal insulation lamination to bond the dielectric effectively to the aluminum substrate. Black soldermask was applied uniformly, complemented by white silkscreen for component marking. The surface was then treated with HASL Lead Free using molten solder coating and hot air leveling to achieve a flat, solderable finish without lead.
All boards underwent electrical testing and heat dissipation verification, resulting in full compliance with specifications. This ensured the delivered aluminum PCBs provide dependable thermal management and electrical insulation for the intended application.
