Manufacturing Summary

The production of five 4-layer Rogers PCBs required careful material preparation due to the substrate's high-frequency characteristics. Each board measured 38 x 16 mm and was fabricated at 1.6 mm thickness with 1 oz copper layers. With 8/8 mil minimum track and spacing, 0.25 mm holes, and no blind vias, the design followed standard parameters while demanding precise layer registration during stack-up.

 

High pressure lamination of the low loss material ensured strong interlayer bonding and dimensional stability. Green soldermask and white silkscreen were applied prior to the lead-free HASL surface finish through molten solder coating and hot air leveling. Subsequent electrical testing verified the integrity of all circuits on the small batch.

 

The 12.4-day manufacturing duration allowed for thorough processing of the Rogers material at each stage, from imaging and etching to final testing. This approach produced consistent boards that fully complied with the specified requirements.
