Manufacturing Summary

For this order, we produced 1000 pieces of 2-layer flexible printed circuits on a thin 0.13 mm polyimide base using 1/2 oz electrolytic copper. The distinctive long and narrow dimensions of 215.75 mm by 11.94 mm, combined with no stiffener requirement, called for specialized material preparation and handling to retain the board's natural flexibility. Standard 6/6 mil track and spacing along with 0.3 mm hole sizes were implemented using conventional imaging and etching techniques.

 

Subsequent steps included coverlay lamination, white solder mask application over selected areas, and the organic coating for OSP surface finish to provide effective protection. Dynamic flex testing formed a critical part of the validation, verifying the circuits' ability to endure repeated bending cycles without failure. All boards then underwent batch AOI inspection and electrical testing to confirm consistent quality and functionality across the entire production run.

 

The entire production was completed over 20.8 days, delivering reliable flexible PCBs suited to applications where space is limited and movement is constant.
